One of the roadblocks people face in trusting God is the age old question “why do bad things happen to good people”? I understand where this question comes from. It’s only natural when we face an injustice or unfair circumstance, to want to set it right. Now, I won’t insult anyone by pretending to know the answer to this question, but here’s one thing I do know: God intends to use our trials and hardships to drive us closer to Him. Just like how a sea-captain only realizes his need for an anchor when caught in the middle of a storm, we too only see our need for a Savior when we’re in desperate need of saving. You might try to avoid it, but the hard times in life have an uncanny way of driving us to admit this truth. But that’s not all.
God wants to show us His kindness and mercy by not only comforting us when we’re struggling, but also by restoring us after the pain subsides. All that’s left then, is to be ready to share your testimony and the same level of comfort God gave to you, to whoever else He leads across your path. Guys, life was not just made for us. And what better way to do life than to do it together; by coming alongside other men and women who are all on the same journey of making the most out of this life God has given us. Wherever you find yourself today, let God do a good work in you by trusting Him to bring good out of your situation and to use it to help someone else along the way.
“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” - 2 Corinthians 1:4
